Q: Why are your boards so expensive?
A: Are they? Because they are a lot of board! Our boards are priced to be competitive with the leading board companies who make durable and light decks (fiberglass, epoxy, and bamboo). However, here’s where we get different than other companies: We don’t build it ’til you order because we know every rider is unique. In order to get the maximum output and joy out of a deck it needs to be customized to that specific rider. Not every board works for every rider and discipline. Unfortunately, there is not a one- size/style fits -all when it comes to longboarding. There are no mass produced, machine made, “cookie cutter” boards here.
Each board is handmade from start to finish. It is pressed using only quality materials including bamboo and our “secret sauce” to give it just the right flex per your weight. After it is pressed, cut out, sanded, and other good stuff we complete your board with our unique finish. The entire process is very labor intensive, but we think the finished product is not only worth it, but very affordable. Considering how the board is made, what it is made with, and the craftsmanship that each deck gets, we feel our customers will be anything but disappointed. Don’t even get me started on how durable they are.
We offer completes for a lower price.
Q: Are your boards just pretty?
A: Our decks are insulted. We didn’t spend the last 3 years locked up in the shop like a mad scientist just to come up with a functional piece of artwork. Our worktables are etched with numerous formulas and sketches leading to what we feel and have heard is a great ride. We don’t care if your favorite move is to push, skate, dance, freeride, or downhill; we care that our board does the best job making all of those things happen. So you can still hang it up on your living room wall when not in use, but don’t let it hang there too long. It was made to be ridden.
Q: Why does it take 2-3 weeks to ship a board?
A: We are sorry about the wait, but handmade beauty and quality doesn’t happen over night. Each board is made to order and goes through quite the process. We always send out an email on the day it has shipped with a tracking number so you can anticipate its arrival just as much as we do.
Q: Can I customize my board?
A: Yes, within reason. If you are looking for a simple stripe, decal, or something simple, please call us or email us so we can discuss the possibility and price.
Q. Do you ship your boards assembled?
A: We don’t. We want the deck and components to arrive in the best condition and therefore they do not ship assembled. However, it is easy to put together using a skate tool or the tools you have at home. There is a video to help here.
